New beginnings…

BLOG #1 - Wednesday 15th March

Hello and welcome to my first blog, This is Dan, Director of Nice Lines.

It’s mid-March, spring is on it’s way and as the first month of being in business I’m excited to post my first blog. I thought I would answer questions that friends and family have asked me recently as I set off with my new venture.

What does Nice Lines mean?

The name is based on a shared enjoyment of architecture, design and nature. Take time to look at things, admire them close and far and have a perspective. In my opinion, there is nothing nicer than taking a minute to admire the detail of a roof structure, the intricacies of a brick arch or the sweeping of waves breaking over a point.

What do you offer?

Renovating homes has always been stressful. From finding an architect who isn’t too expensive to then looking for a reliable builder. Working out how much it’s all going to cost and where to begin!  All these questions are the tip of the iceberg of decision making, something which is one of the most challenging parts of doing up your home.

I provide construction advice that will allow you to make an informed decision, provide momentum and enthusiasm behind the project and get the ball rolling.

With a breadth of experience, skilled and reliable contacts, I am able to use the right professionals at the right time and get the best out of your budget.

What does that mean?

Feasibility - I can tell you the cost of your project quickly.

Project Management - I can oversee your project from start to end.

Procurement - I find the best quality fixtures and fittings at the best price.

Contract Administration - I can manage your contractors and keep them in line.

What is a project manager on a house project?

I am your trusted support, your right hand man working with your best interests in mind, making efforts to reach your goals in the best way. We will speak regularly and get to know each other really well.
With thorough communication, processes and reporting, I enable home owners to renovate their properties and remove stress and worry. A lot of people take this role on themselves, but not many go on to do it again…I guess I am slightly different.

Why do I enjoy this work?

  1. I love working on projects, getting into the detail, following progress and seeing the finished product.

  2. I want to improve housing and living conditions as I believe your environment greatly impacts your quality of life.

  3. I enjoy working with people and building relationships. I want my customers to share the enjoyment and excitement

I hope you enjoyed reading and look forward to sharing my thoughts with you next time.
